DAN CLIFTON - Director/ Writer.
Dan Clifton is an award-winning writer, director and producer working across documentaries and film. He is Chair of FERA, the Federation of European Film Directors.
Recent projects include PATIENT 39, an award-winning short film adaptation of a William Boyd short story. His previous short film THE CALCULUS OF LOVE has screened at Festivals across the world, winning several awards. As Writer/ Director, he is currently developing his award-winning feature-length screenplay REVELSTOKE, and is attached to direct his sci-fi horror SIGNIFICANCE, with Irish Horror boutique Fantastic Films. He is also developing true crime thriller JOB OF A LIFETIME with Canadian Producer Bill Marks of Vortex Words and Pictures.
Dan has written and directed over thirty television documentaries. Docu-drama credits include WEB OF LIES, PARANORMAL WITNESS, STEPHEN HAWKING’S UNIVERSE and HUMAN BODY: PUSHING THE LIMITS, which was nominated for Primetime Emmy and RTS awards for Excellence in Visual Effects. Dan has a special interest in science, having written and directed a number of acclaimed films for both British and international audiences. (including HORIZON: SWALLOWED BY A BLACK HOLE and the award-nominated THE ENGINES THAT CAME IN FROM THE COLD).
BETTINA LERNER - Producer
Bettina has written, produced and directed several films for the flagship BBC science documentary series, HORIZON, and won the Glaxo/ABSW Award for Best Television Writer (twice). She then became the Series Editor of Horizon, commissioning and executive producing a series of 18 documentaries each year, covering every science subject from health to volcanoes and astrophysics. She has been nominated for several major awards, and has won the BAFTA for Best Factual Series and the Royal Television Society’s Award for Best Documentary Series.
Bettina then became an Executive Producer and Development Executive for the BBC,working across many programmes. In the History Department she made series including EGYPTIAN JOURNEYS and LOST CITIES OF THE ANCIENTS. She also developed several major drama-doc series including WARRIORS, WILD WEST, NUREMBERG, and negotiated co-production funding for each series. Since leaving the BBC, Bettina has worked as a freelance executive producer and development consultant.
